Job Descriptions

Registered Nurses:   Part time weekends / Per diem evenings and weekends

As a member of the treatment team, the RN utilizes the nursing process with individual patients and groups of patients to assist them in meeting their physiological, psychological, safety, and general health needs. RN’s are also responsible for the supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses, Mental Health Technicians and the Unit Secretary. RN’s provide services to patients whose ages range from adult to geriatric.

Education:        Current Florida State License as an RN 

Requirements:   Documentation of the Successful completion of a pharmacology course and/or and examination.

Proof of CPR certification 

Experience:       One year of experience working in a psychiatric, chemical  dependency, or eating disorders setting preferred.

Licensed Practical Nurses:

The Licensed Practical Nurse assists in the planning and implementation of patient care within a designated program and administers medications to patients according to established protocols.  Provides services to patients whose ages range from adult to geriatric. 

Education:        Current Florida License as an L.P.N.

Documentation of successful completion of a pharmacology course

and/or examination

Requirements:   Current State of Florida licensure as an L.P.N.

                        Current CPR certification 

Experience:       One (1) year of experience in psychiatric, chemical dependency or eating disorders preferred.

Mental Health Technicians:   

As a member of the treatment team, The Mental Health Technician participates in direct patient care including insuring patient safety, interacting therapeutically, assisting in activities of daily living, and performing routine technical nursing assignments.  Provides services to patients whose ages range from adult to geriatric.

Education:          High school graduate or GED.

 Twelve earned college credits in psychology or

 other behavioral science accredited program

 Requirements:   Current valid State of Florida Drivers License

 Current CPR certification

 Experience:       Six months of relevant experience in a psychiatric setting or

 Twelve months of relevant experience in an acute care and/or
  nursing home facility may be substituted for experience in a
  psychiatric setting.

Social Worker: 

The Social Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating/developing, conceptualizing and designing a theoretically and clinically sound treatment program for all patient programs to include policies and procedures. 

Education:        Master’s Degree in Social Work or equivalent Master’s Degree in a recognized mental health field preferred.

 

Requirements:  Certified drug and/or alcohol counselor, or significant clinical experience in the treatment of adults with a chemical dependency and/or eating disorder.

Must be currently licensed or licensed-eligible.

 Experience:       Experience in an inpatient setting preferred.

Dietary Aide: 

The Dietary Aide assembles, prepares and cleans items and equipment necessary for patient and employee food service.  He/she delivers food and trays as necessary and provides services to patients whose ages range from adult to geriatric. 

Education:         High School Diploma or GED.

Requirements:   Must be clean and neat in appearance.

(A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the above minimum qualifications) 

Experience:       None               

Dietary - Cook:

The Cook is responsible for preparing, seasoning and cooking food for patients and employees. He/she will provide services to patients whose ages range from adult to geriatric.

Education:         High School Diploma or GED.     

Requirements:   Experience in preparing, cooking, and service food in large quantities. Previous institution cooking experience and schooling is preferred.  Must be clean and neat in appearance.

(A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the above minimum qualifications)

Medical Records Technician 

The Medical Records Technician is responsible for all clerical tasks within the Medical Records Department including the processing of all medical records and statistical analysis and coding as assigned. 

Education:         High School Diploma or GED

Requirements:  Two years training and or/ experience in clerical work and typing with emphasis on medical terminology.

Housekeeper: 

The Housekeeper Supervisor is responsible for the major floor cleaning and refinishing functions in accordance with the standard procedures of the Housekeeping Department.  He/She will, in accordance with the Hospital’s objectives, will use cleaning devices including commercial vacuum cleaners, twenty-four (24) ounce mop and wringers, and other necessary equipment, tools, products and supplies.  Maintains and distributes linen inventory and oversees set-up for special functions.  Supervises all housekeeping personnel and housekeeping functions within the hospital. 

Education:         High School Diploma or GED 

Requirements:   One (1) year of experience or a personal preference in Housekeeping in a health care facility.

Admissions Clerk: 

The Admissions Specialist is responsible for developing, managing and implementing systems, particularly inquiry/intake calls, patient screenings, admissions and contacts with utilization reviewers and case managers.  He/she is also responsible for working with the admissions and facility staff to assure exceptional patient and community satisfaction, and in developing and achieving community education and awareness goals 

Education:         High School Diploma or equivalent. 

Requirements:   A minimum of 1 to 3 years experience in health care, preferably in mental health.
